Random Acts of Cuteness

We bought a small vacuum to clean up Owen's after-dinner mess but since it's pink, Zoe claimed it. She loves using it.

Is there anything more precious in the world than this?

Zoe and her friends. We were watching a movie together and when we turned around she had them set up like this. Don't ask.

"Owen, are you excited?" Response:

This girl. There aren't enough words.

A Laughing Matter

First of all, don't forget to visit Brooke Snow Photography to give us a chance at winning a photo shoot with her. The contest ends tomorrow!

Despite his many many many smiles, Owen doesn't laugh too often. Not a good belly laugh anyway. It's usually a shriek/giggle but that's about it. So It's nice to have this effect on him every once in a while:

Of course the one time someone rings our doorbell in weeks is while I've got the camera on. Here is Part 2:

Story Time: In a Blue Room

OK, I am currently editing pictures. I will probably just put them into a slide show as there are no significant events or witty explanations involved. In the mean time, enjoy Zoe "reading" a book.

This is one of SEVERAL that she has memorized. It is In a Blue Room, by Jim Averbeck.

It Never Ends...

No, I'm not talking about this pregnancy (yet - stay tuned) but about Zoe. This girl can TALK. She is never quiet when we are home. She keeps herself entertained all day long, sometimes without ever taking a toy out of her closet. And all the while she is narrating. She also loves to read and she has quite a few books memorized. These videos are LONG because, like I said, she just doesn't stop. She's also started singing a lot and will throw in a few random stanzas here and there. What a Nuggle. I sure love being able to hang out with such a cool kid all day long.

Word of The Day

It's a fairly innocent book. The title, Where Are My Glasses? pretty much summarizes the entire plot. We've read it about five times every day for the past week (thank goodness it's a library book and will eventually have to go back). The rhymes are simple and predictable and Zoe knows every single one without being prompted. So, for our third reading of the day when I read, "Are they under my..." and left room for Zoe to complete the sentence with "bed," she paused, gave me a sly look, said "HEAD!" and fell over laughing. For about 10 minutes. She just knowingly made her first joke and she loved it. Half-way through the laughter I grabbed the camera to document the occasion. Fortunately the joke was still funny.

Warning: this video is cute and long - don't feel obligated to watch the whole thing. But don't feel self-conscious for watching it over and over either.

As a side note - our new schedule is working out better than I could have hoped. I have actually been productive this week. And I have had more quality time with Zoe. More quality time = more blogworthy moments. Fortunately the schedule has also given me more time to blog so I should be updating more frequently than I have over the past couple months. Look for Flashback Friday coming at you late tonight!

World Premiere Videos! - "Sneath Clay" 2007

So I tried to post these last week when Travis visited us, but Blogger was having video issues. Here are some videos of James and Travis playing some of their old songs together. They haven't played together in a LONG LONG LONG time. Too long. First is one of their major hits Patiently Waiting. Second is the never-released song Fly Home. Lastly we have the feel good classic Another Sunny Day.

James also has some exciting music news, but I will let him tell you. I'll just say I am so proud of him.

Phone Home

If you've ever wondered what I do while I talk on the phone, here is your answer.

I had to spend a lot more time than usual on the phone on Monday and Zoe picked right up on it. The funny thing is that I'm actually talking to her on my cell phone. She got James' phone and somehow dialed me. The "uh-oh" at the end is because she nearly started a conference call with one of James' coworkers.

James was a little mystified as to why I didn't break that last long post up into 3 shorter ones. I just can't. I hate having lots of little posts all put on the same day. He even made sure I was going to put this video separate from the slide show. so just to keep him on his toes...

Here's a totally unrelated picture. This is from conference weekend. It was all stormy and the tree across the street looked fabulous. For a while it actually seemed like Fall!
