Skywalk

Every year we drive up the canyon with our ward members for the annual "Skywalk." It's a 3-mile jaunt with stops for dinner and snacks along the way. Despite the warm weather, the colors have been changing around here and it was gorgeous. Most of the pictures didn't turn out well (I really really really really really really want a new camera) so I'm only posting a couple post-walk shots. Aren't these two the most precious children you've ever seen?

Splitsville. Population: Us

On Sunday an amazing thing happened. It was certainly an answer to prayers. Though we've known it was coming for a couple weeks, I couldn't tell all you wonderful people about it until it actually happened. Our ward split! Huzzah! And another hearty "Huzzah!" for James' new calling as ward clerk in our new Greenridge Ward.

I am so excited
.

Our new ward is so small - just our townhouses and the surrounding houses that make up the Greenridge development - but it is going to be awesome. And we are definitely excited that James will be in a position to use all the wonderful experiences we had in the 7th Ward to make this ward awesome. Seriously, the 7th Ward was like boot camp (in a good, loving way). I didn't realize how rare and wonderful it was until we were gone. The new Bishop is one of three men who actually know James and I am excited for James to be working with him.

The only downside is that between all the work of getting a ward running from scratch and James' last month of school (and the giant project he is finishing) I'm not going to see much of him during the month of April. The kids might forget what he looks like. But mostly we are excited about all the opportunities this change brings to us and everyone else in the ward. I love a challenge!

Making It Official

Owen's blessing (nearly 2 weeks ago) was wonderful. Thank you to everyone who could come (or those who wanted to be there but couldn't). It was nice to have some friendly faces in our ward. Here are some pictures:

The Dudes (minus James' boss)

The Chicas

And while we're talking about blessings, let me demonstrate what a blessing in our life Owen is:

This kid ALWAYS has a smile for us. Whether he is watching Zoe play, just waking up from his nap, or getting a 3 am diaper change. He is just a happy, calm little guy - which is a nice change around here. Not that Zoe isn't happy. She is, usually. But "calm" will never never be used to describe her. Bless her heart.

The Blessing

We are blessing Owen in church this Sunday at 9am. Anyone who would like to come is invited. You are especially invited if you fall into the category of worthy priesthood holder. Otherwise our circle might be more of a triangle. Contact us if you need more details.
