One Week in Heaven...

We might have to nickname our house Neverland Ranch because it seems to be the perfect place for 10-year-old boys. For the last week we've had James' mom and his nephew Tre visiting us. I was a bit nervous about Tre coming as I have absolutely NO experience with children (other than Zoe) and very little tolerance for them (Zoe included). But it was awesome. Apparently, the combination of video games (particularly Mario Kart, Zelda, Wii Sports, and Wario Ware), Simpsons DVDs, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, 15-year-old Goosebumps books, and a bubbly 2-year-old who thinks everything you say and do is absolutely hilarious, equals vacation heaven for a 10-year-old. Oh, and we went to Kangaroo Zoo, the lake, and a couple neighborhood parks (look out for those posts coming soon). So I apologize for our extended absence, but our office has taken on the role of guest bedroom and, as you will see in the pictures, we've been keeping very very busy.

Oh yes, our house is also heaven for grandmas - all meals prepared, the Twilight series, and a bubbly 2-year-old who thinks everything you say and do is absolutely hilarious.

And I should probably add that having two extra sets of hands is heaven for mom too. Tre was great at keeping Zoe entertained and never failed to think of something fun to do. James and I got to sneak away on Friday night and go out to eat and then hit a movie. A real movie. Half-way through I remembered why we never went to movies while I'm pregnant - I CANNOT sit that long comfortably - but the date was well worth the pain and actually paying "full price" (read: more than $1) for a movie. We went and saw the new Indiana Jones movie which, despite numerous plot holes, was fun. And it was the second movie about "The City of Gold" that we saw this week. We rented National Treasure 2 for kicks. I'd have to say that the most unbelievable part about that movie is Nicholas Cage's dye job. Yikes. I hope whoever did that got fined.

So bear with me as I delve into our camera's memory card and pick out some gems for you. Hopefully I should have everything up before our next family visit in 2 weeks!

I can't believe how old Tre looks(and is)!! Wow, looks like everyone had a fantastic time. I'm sure Zoe adored (or is worshipped a better word?) Tre to no end... I know my girls do!! He's such a great kid, I can't wait until they come to visit us in a month, although there's not nearly so much to do around here. It seems you guys kept each day busy!
I MISS YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering where you went! I'm glad you are back posting again. It looks like you had a great time. I hope when my nieces come out to visit they have 1/2 the fun that your nephew did. I am curious how to entertain them.

This really has nothing to do with this post, but I haven't heard from you guys in forever (likely my fault, but I never have been that great at keeping in touch). I just thought I'd let you know that we just had a baby. Check it out:

Thank you for the wonderful week of vacation at your home. Your guys are so pleasant to be around. I really enjoyed myself and also got the rest that I really needed! I had a great time and I know that Tre did too!
Our train ride home went fast. Tre met some kids on the train and they kept going from the lounge back to our seats. At least they kept busy.
Thanks again. Love MOM/Grandma, Cathy
